Re: Lake Elsinore

Im actually heading down there tomorrow with the wifey, I was hoping someone would know a better place to launch than seaport.

Ive only been down there once and launced at seaport (waited forever) its nice, wasnt too crowded, but than again it was off season.

Anyone know of a better launch than seaport and a good time to head out there to avoid the masses for this weekend?

FYI : I found these other launch sites

Re: Lake Elsinore

Well my cousin lives close to Lake Elsinore and was telling me that for the most part the smell is gone and the water is not as low as the infamous past. But I guess I will find out tomorrow

Re: Lake Elsinore

well the wife and I went there yesterday (sunday the 12th) and launched at crane rv park. Needless to say you need one of those extended hitch deals since there boat ramp is very shallow (we had nearly the whole car in the water to launch, pretty f'ing scary) the cost to launch both our pwc's was 37 bucks so its kind of pricey. Also there are no dock's there so the poor wife had to hold both our skis while I drove way up the way to park the car.

Anyhow the water there isnt too nice, very green with a lot of particulate in the water, last year it was way cleaner & clearer. The water itself was pretty damn choppy even though there wasnt much wind. Also I noticed a lot of "bro" activity to which the police had to respond.

I was also told the water level is down 6' from some local trailer folk.

Re: Lake Elsinore

I live 10 miles from the lake. The water quality is ok for the lakes around in the area. It's going to be hard to find some smooth water on the weekends with other boats around and the wind kicking up in the afternoon. The best place to launch is the state launch area. I forgot what it's called, but it's at the south east end of the lake. I'm into the stand up ski's so I'll do my messing around in the ocean instead.
