Re: Any BAJA Rider's Out there ?

Baja has tons of good places to ride. Unlike the States, if you can get your ski in the water you can ride there. Out of respect though I don’t recommend riding at any of the popular surfing spots and as a general rule don’t ride where surfers are at all, there’s plenty of good surf were surfers don’t frequent, especially south of Ensenada. There are few boat launch ramps in Mexico so if you ride a stand up and plan on beach launching from a tote you won’t have to much trouble. If you ride a couch its still possible to beach launch it’s just a little more difficult. Canatamar Beach is just south of your home in Puerto Nuevo and has decent beach/launch access(no ramp). It’s the site were the Mex Rager parties were held

Re: Any BAJA Rider's Out there ?

Mex Who !.? ! ?...We Ride Both Stand-up, X2 & Sea-Couch. I have a tote, & 4X4 Atv. My 4X4 truck will get me anywhere there is access. I'm not sure if i've found Canatamar beach or Not ? Is there any good landmarks. I have found a few Surf spots & have not received any Flak from the Surfers. I give them Lot's of Space. I'm told there is a Coast line Road from Ensenada down to San Quintin ? I have not found it ? Not sure if it's paved ? Do you know of a up to Date Map or Site . Thanks for the Reply. BWP

Re: Any BAJA Rider's Out there ?

The Mex Rager was a annual party held at Cantamar beach in Mexico every October the weekend after the World Finals event in Lake Havasu. After the Havasu event, when all the pressure was off all the competitors, every body would head down to Mexico to have a big party and unwind. Due to the drug violence in the past that has occurred in some parts of Northern Baja, a lot of people don’t feel comfortable traveling to Mexico so the Party has been moved to Pismo Beach in Central CA. As for Cantamar Beach, it has good access, is close to plenty of restaurants and is easy to find. From Puerto Nuevo head South about 5 miles to Cantamar. At the South end of town are the large sand dunes(can’t miss them, only ones in the area). At the South end of the dunes you will cross a bridge, immediately when the bridge ends take a right along side the small river on the unmarked road and this is Cantamar Beach. As for the road South to San Quintin it is paved the entire way. San Quintin is about 5 hrs South of the border. You can get a current map of Baja from the Automobile Club of Southern California also you can familiarize yourself with places along the way like Estero Beach and San Quintin Bay by searching them on Google Earth.
