Preliminary Q&A:
Q. Can I book my site at Orwood?
A. Yes, tell them you're with the Freedom Ride and you'll be given a slot with the group.
Q. Will there be water berths available again this year?
A. Yes, we can get 3 or 4 skis in per berth. If you want to get one please arrange it when you book your site and then offer to share it to split costs. North Cal Jet Ski Crew will get 2 berths for 6 skis, but they will be for the safety skis.
Q. Are there any local hotels / motels?
A. Yes, details to follow.
Q. Is this a family friendly event?
A. YES, this event is a social gathering aimed at promoting PWC safety and finding new riding friends.
Q. Is there catering?
A. We are working on having a local ski chef for the weekend where you will be able to buy into a provided menu for a reasonable cost.
Q. Where do I register?
A. Online forms will be available RSN.
Q. Are the dates flexible, I cannot get that weekend off?
A. Sorry, the dates are the hardest thing for us to lock down and they are fixed.
Q. I'm a novice PWCer, am I still welcome?
A. You will be looked after more than you can imagine, welcome to the family.
Q. How many people are you expecting?
A. We are hoping to get close to or pass tripple digits this year.
Q. Do I have to go on all of the rides?
A. No, not at all, you can pick and choose rides to go on.
Q. What about launching?
A. We will be doing valet style launching. You can launch or we can help if you need it.

Re: 4th Annual West Coast Freedom Ride August 6th through August 8th 2010

Hi all:

Just a reminder - if you haven't made your reservation, now's the time! We're hoping to exceed last year's group number.

The only bad news thus far is that we had hoped to have a "Master Chef" cooking for dinner on Saturday, but that hasn't materialized. So everyone needs to bring their own food, or plan on eating at local restaurants.

Please, join us! It's going to be a great weekend.

Sandi

I ran the route to check it out and it was one of the best rides I have done in a very long time. I highly recommend this route over the other.

There are two fuel stops along the way for those that need fuel.

On Sunday the route is 57 miles. So if you do all three runs, you will do about 161 miles on the California Delta.
Here are the GPS route files.

I would suggest the long route on Saturday and the Sunday ride for sure.

I laid out and lead a small group on the Sunday route last year and it's excellent. There is a lunch/gas stop at the midway point (Wimpy's) and virtually no main channel riding.

Both of Saturday's routes have very little main channel sections.

Saturday's route will a large group heading from Orwood to Stockton and then we will split into two groups with either a short or long return route with a lunch/gas stop for both shortly after we leave Stockton.

All of the ones starting with Orwood to xxx are the short loops in the general Orwood area. The others are named for where they go.

All of Saturday's and Sunday's routes have fuel stops so I don't anticipate any problems for the "high flow rate" crowd. I believe the longest distance between stops might be about 30 miles or so.

I will be posting a ride sign up flyer at bit later today so we can get a feel for how many people would prefer which rides.
