Stock Kawi handlepole modification

SO I know most of you think lowly of Kawi's, but Has anyone ever shortened a stock Kawi pole? I saw how to shorten a RN pole on the X, very easy it appeared, but that doesn't help. Cut it in half and section it? I think I will wrap it in Carbon Fiber when I am done if that I how to do it.

And if anyone has any spare Tubbies laying around collecting dust let me know. Or I will just order some from Blowsion..

Re: Stock Kawi handlepole modification

I think that Kawi pole would have to be cut and glassed back together. My step-dad broke his in 98 and had the fiberglass guy at the shipyard glass it back together for him. It's held well since.

I think Tom21 makes some for the 750's. His tubbies for the X2 and SJ run $175. I'd contact him before Blowsion. Also, .#0 on the X was making some for the SJ. Don't know if he makes any others though.

Crab gave me a pair of his 'fakies' if you want them. Free. You will need to make them fit, kind of rough in places.

Let me know when you want to come get them. I will be heading out of town this weekend for a week or so. Visits to Pac city, Pismo, O-side, Vegas...

Re: Stock Kawi handlepole modification

I don't know when I could come get them. I don't get up to the big city much. Next time you are this way to ride grayland or something bring them. I can meet you or I will be out that way too. Actually I am heading to Leavenworth on the 23rd and back on the 25th.. I could get ahold of you then if you aren't off parading around the countryside..... hahaha
