I'm glad you think its funny but i know theres still a handful of riders who want to race and first timers wanting to get into racing. Just because local racing is nowhere near what it used to be but thats no reason to be negative about trying to keep races going.

Surf slam is a great event, you may not need more but i need more. It would be exciting to get a local race series going. I'm in no position to put on races but would be willing to help in anyway to get some races.

Re: Region 3 racing ?

Along with the surf freestyle competition they also have racing at Surf Slam. It's a lot more interesting than flat water racing when those pacific waves start breaking over the racers. I wish I could have got video last year but it was too hazy.

It would be nice to have more races but population wise we are a small region that covers big area. It's hard to get people to invest all the money it requires to get there to participate. The high gas prices a couple years ago really turned people off now we have the general economy.

Re: Region 3 racing ?

I know money is a huge reason to stop racing, family comes first. I'm not complaining theres no races I was asking if there was anything in the works and if so i was willing to help out. If we get races great if not its understandable.

Re: Region 3 racing ?

Hey Carl. It really comes down to someone deciding to take on the whole īpromotion` thing. Tim found out how much work it really takes. A HUGE thanks to Jon, Bruce, and Kevin for doing it when I got into the sport. I totally understand the reason they had to give it up. I thank my lucky stars that Harbor Dan is there to help me organize the Grayland Open. Money is not necessarily the main reason. I can only offer assistance in knowing where to go and what things need to be taken care of.

Kelowna...? Sweet. Please if anyone knows anything more about the race please keep everyone posted. I know that everyone over here on the East side will put a caravan together to head up there for sure. Would be a great trip.
