Cruising in Cosmopolis 1/10/10

Hey all you runabout riders. Harbor Dan and I are putting together a little distance cruise up the Chehalis this sunday at noon. I just bought a 09 yam FX/HO and need to get some seat time on her. Going for some mileage, and I have never ridden down there. It should be a good time, so come on out and let me get to know you. i am planning on organizing a lot of trips around the area for the season.

Cosi boat launch works, but we can also put in behind the Biodiesel plant in Hoquiam which is a couple miles further down river from Cosi. Either place you are required to have a WDFW parking pass, if you do not have one you will get a ticket. You can get them anywhere that sells hunting/fishing licenses for I think its $11 now, but will last until the end of march I think.

John wont make it, due to his company having their Xmas party in Longview saturday night. But I plan on being there with his ski since mine is still in a pile in the garage... I am already shivering from the cold...........

Just so you know, this is going to be too far for a ski to follow. Unless we haul you backwards on the swim platform.

Re: Cruising in Cosmopolis 1/10/10

If stand ups come we can start the ride on the couches an meet up with the stand ups at a certain time and launch. I've used the launch lots and never gotten a ticket. I have at least one other couch rider coming so far.

Dayton,

We could also start in montesano and meet up with stand up riders in cosmopolis on the way through. stand ups can also stash gas along the way pretty easily.

Too far for a stand up? Not really. From Friends landing in monte to Hoquiam isn't that far. I ran my ski this summer from there to hoquiam and back to aberdeen on 3/4 of a tank with alot of playtime included. I can have gas waiting anywhere. How far are you wanting to ride? The river is high and dirty right now so there are not many limitations on where we can go.

Re: Cruising in Cosmopolis 1/10/10

Mike - Do I have to? I am thinking that she may want to be a ´closet type´. Jealous of all the fun standup action and stuff. That´s why she needs to go on long trips, often. Don´t think she will ever see much of Lk Sammamish.

I would like to get a good solid 3 straight hours on her, or around 75 miles. Now you see the dilemma for the standup guys. I am willing to meet up with you guys for a little jaunt in the river, make some sweet wakes (she REALLY does that), and hang out. But the whale is for touring long distances. So, whatever. Make the call.

Matt - Maybe. . .
