Re: Anyone riding the ocean this weekend......

Please note I am just fantasizing here. I am not suggesting people go out in this stuff.

The surf forecast is up to over 23 feet this weekend. According to Wavewatch it's going to be one set of swells not the ugly normal mix of swells coming from six directions:
http://www.wavewatch.com/Surf-Foreca...php?RegionID=2
The swells are going to be a large 16 seconds apart. If you could get off the beach it would be an amazing ride. It might be possible to get out from the Salmon river.

It would be cool to be sitting in the Pelican Pub watching it crash over the big rock with a tasty, refreshing adult beverage.

Maybe I am the only one around here confident enough to ride these, but I just don't have time this weekend. Will take a look at them tomorrow while visiting H-D. Maybe face them down with the Xterra! ! !

Re: Anyone riding the ocean this weekend......

Ya I just got back from Grayland digging the Razored Clam.. NOT FUN! I think it was the worst digging ever. The water would be WAY out then a group of 10 waves would come in and push you 100ft back up the beach. If it was light I would compare it to that Tierra pic...

Re: Anyone riding the ocean this weekend......

When I rode the Salmon River last year the surf was like this, I had no beach, no boat ramp the river was in the parking lot. Rode down the river and the surf was at the tree line differently didn’t stay turned around and headed back to the ramp. I wasn’t even gone 5 minutes and the water was about 2 inches deep at my truck and I was parked by the bathrooms.

It’s good to see the boat ramp back at Tierra if its not foam you can actually launch from it

jk thats the first time i have seen the beach access closed.
