Is there a speed limit on the butler chain???

I did a search and see many sites that say there is a speed limit but have talked to people that say it is not posted and the fish and game officer said there wasnt, does anyone know which is fact, Matt

Most of the very large lakes do not have a speed limit, but there is undoubtedly one in channels between the lakes in the chain, most likely a no wake limit. And of course within a 100 feet of the shore is usually no wake as well.

I read that there is a 36 mile an hour speed limit on all of the lakes on the chain and they give tickets but cant confirm this, Matt

i have used the lakes at butler for a long time and i have never had a problem with a speed limit now their is a lot of no wake zones

I Talked to an fwc officer and there is a speed limit of 36mph on the chain out in open water but he said it is not enforced anymore, Matt

matt888 is right. i live on the chain. there is a "speed limit," but they really dont enforce it if you are on a ski. if you are in a boat, they may. some friends of mine got a ticket a year or 2 ago. but they were in a boat and "acting a fool".

Certain Lakes and certain areas do have speed limits over there...
