Ponce Inlet/Anchor Question

I tried last season to anchor at Ponce (The New Smyrna side, inside the inlet) to anchor with a mushroom (I know, they suck) anchor to no avail. I bought one of those Jet Logic screw anchors today. Anyone have luck with those in the inlet area?

Re: Ponce Inlet/Anchor Question

The best anchor, bar none, is a standard dog screw available from any petshop for $5.

Get one for a large dog and it will hold one ski. If you find one with big metal flages on the side, that will hold three skis in the waves. I had one I got at Petsmart but it rusted out after a year and now I only have the dog screws. They work great, dig into the sand easily.

Depending on the waves/current, you may be able to tie two or three skis on a large dog tie, but it could pull it out if there are too big of waves from the tides or passing boats.

Re: Ponce Inlet/Anchor Question

Thanks, I guess I have the more expensive version of the dog screw!
