Talking Palm Coast Area?

Hello everyone, I'm new to the area here in florida. Moved here from the North East. The weather here is why I moved. I'll ride my ski 12 months of the year if its possible. I would love to hear from anyone near my location that can tell me of some nice places (fresh or salt) to ride my GP1200R. And if anyone needs a new ridder to ride with I'm always open.Thank you in advance.

Re: Palm Coast Area?

I know several standup riders in that area......mainly up towards st augustine and down towards daytona. Ever thought of buying a standup for surf riding? There's nothing quite like it for fun.

Re: Palm Coast Area?

Go to our website (OWR) if you like to ride with a group. We hit a lot of rivers, plus the east coast of Florida mostly. We plan to head towards Tampa and the west coast some this year as well.

Re: Palm Coast Area?

Moby,

A couple of us are riding up th Silver Glenn Spring from SR44 Ed Stone Park. You could meet us at Astor, Fl at the St Johns River. Just get on SR40, go west till you go over the St Johns River and turn left after bridge. Turn RT at stop sign and go down a street a little ways and there is a public ramp with parking a cross the street.

I can make it easy on one tank from Astor. Ran all time with my GP1300R up to the SGS from Astor Ramp.

We are leaving Ed Stone Park at @ 9:30 AM. It takes about an hour to get to Astor.

Eric has a 06 STX-15F ( Green and White)
I have a 06 STX-15F ( Silver and Red)

It ones to bea nice day, so should have a good crowd at the Glenn.

Jim (RED 15F)

Re: Palm Coast Area?

Hey MB112, I never tried a stand up before, I know you can get higher on the waves with a stand up, as well as hit other peoples wakes compared to the sitdowns. I'm a speed freak, can a stand up do 75 like my gp1200r RIVA stage II? If they can I'm in.

Hey Gator88, I signed up on the homepage of (OWR) RECEIVED the e-mail on password and name, but the admin has to review my app. Still no access to post anything yet. I like long rides as well. I went to the Matazis Fort today. I was suprised to see a manatee and two dolphins as well. Dumped my ski three times, and got hung up on some sand bars as well. Thank god it was only sand that was sucked up in my intake. Did a long flush as soon as I got home.

Hey Jim, When are you guys heading to springs? You didnt give a date.

Hey Moby, sorry about your account. I normally go through all the new users every couple days, since there are tons of those auto-spam accounts (apparently we get great deals on Viagra and other medicines if I let them post!) Every couple days if you look at the member list you'll see all sorts of whacky names... stupid spammers. I delete all of those of course.

I just activated your account that you registered yesterday. Feel free to post away!

Re: Palm Coast Area?

ajraider, I would have gone with you guys but I think I may have a big problem. Seems my ride yesterday wasnt running at full throttle. Only hit 70 and she will do around 75 to 77. I came home and flushed her down..Woke up this morning and pulled the plugs. The one plug was loose(one closest to the tank) pulled her out and the metal rod on the pug was burnt or broken off. Checked the cyl with a flash light no debree (thank god) that i could see. Took my shop vack to the cyl (just in case). I'm going to do a compression on the cyl and will run it with out a spark plug for 10 seconds , just in case there is anything in the cyl. Than I will put new plugs in her and see how she runs. wish me luck.

Gator88, Thanks you admining me in so soon. Looking forward to going out with the crew from Orlando.

Re: Palm Coast Area?

well good news on the cyl. Did a compresion test. Put in new plugs. And she runs like a bear at matanzis inlet today.Damn was it CHOPPY in the ocean. Nice air but the lower extremities are hurting. The inlet wasnt as bad, some nice flat water. Did 70 with wife as passenger. But its running a little rich on the plugs when I pulled them tonight. Dont know why its rich now since I replace the plugs. Gapped them at .040 as usual. Any one try split fires?

Re: Palm Coast Area?

When is the last time you adjusted carbs? In hotter weather you may have to lean carbs out a bit. Just watch it and go slow with carb adjustment. The weather is really up and down temp wise around here, so its hard to get the carbs just right for max top speed.

We did about a 75 miles yesterday. Went to Silver Glenn and Salt Springs. Lake George was pretty rough and chopped up. Did about 20 miles on Lake George with the wife on back. Yea, I am sore, too.

I post up on OWR, too. (AJWAKER) I try and post here too just in case someone is looking to ride and doesn't know about OWR yet.

SilverGlenn is my satnd by ride, if the weather maybe bad or everyone is unable to make it to another ride.

Hope to see you guys out sometime.

I miss my GP1300R, but I needed more range and storage.

Jim
