Lake Taho to Lake Kissimmee

Anybody done this before? It looks like 40 miles one way and going through many lakes. Lake Kissimmee sure looks huge. I have it mapped out on GPS, but real experience is alot more important. I would be interested in this ride.

I live on lake Toho and do this ride often (alone mostly). From Whaley's Landing to highway 60 (Yeahaw Junction) is 36 miles. I go down to Westgate River Ranch for lunch sometimes. Nice ride, you have a few longer canals that if there isn't alot of traffic you can spray the alligators sunning and the cows and bulls drinking. The Island at the bottom of Lake Kissimmee is Brahma Island and is one of those pay to hunt places. When the water is high and you get inside the weedline you can see some nice game. i.e. Sika, Axis, and Fallow dear, water buffalo, monster boar, Osceola turkeys, sheep and a ton of bald eagles. I suggest you not make the trip when the wind is strong out of the SE-NE as Lake Kissimmee can get nasty. If you ever wanna do it pm me. Im off on Sun-Mon.

Re: Lake Taho to Lake Kissimmee

Mr. King Tut show me around the smaller East Taho today. On the south side of the lake, it was very choppy but as we went north around the perimeter of the lake, it got alot better. Here is the route we took graphed on GPS. Thanks for showing me around!!!

Cool ride Cp. I got roped into a trip to Festival Bay with the Inlaws guilted by the wife with the "They are only here for a few weeks speech" Uuuuug, what a mistake. At least i got a new suit & rash guard for ridding so the day wasn't a compete loss. Which gps do you have? I just got a Garmin legend CX. the maps are weak & I have to get better ones. Worst thing is my computer is a mac so I have to go to my cousins or neighbors house to upload....

Do you have upgraded maps? What is your base map?

Re: Lake Taho to Lake Kissimmee

no upgrade maps. Before a trip, I input waypoints (canal entrance, beach, ramp, etc) into my GPS program and draw out the route. I get the GPS coordinates through google map. From my computer, I upload the route to my GPS.

On the day of the trip, the track function is on automatically, so you will get a true track of that day and if you get lost, just track back. When I get home, I edit the track and save it for future use as it is more accurate then the planned route using google earth.

Good thing about Garmin 76 is the Sea-Doo GTX limited comes with Garmin 76cs (none color version). So I would think you can trade route/track with them.
