Winter 550/650 build

Nothing special here, just putting the "borrowed" 650 from my x2 into my middle son's js550.

WestCoast exhaust, alum water box, sbn44 and a 17 skat-trac should pull him around pretty good! using a conversion plate from a member, still just in the dirty/dry fit stage- got a little bit of grinding on the bedplate and change the coupler, it should pretty well be done! woo-hoooo, a done project on the horizon.

Re: Winter 550/650 build

clearance is probably about the same as the spark plug gap, but it all fits so far.

Any electrical experts around?

i dont know if it's this crummy seloc manual or my brain, but i can NOT wrap my head around this-

using a matching motor and stator from a '89 TS, and existing 550 box w/ rev limiter removed.

from stator i have 2 brown, 1 blk w/yellow stripe, 1 purple.

voltage reg has 2 brown, 1 blk/yel, 1 red and 1 red w/ blu stripe

coil has 1 red, 1 gray and 1 black.

i managed to hookup the matching colors ok, but i have some strays... purple from stator and 3 on coil still need a home.

thanks in advance, i know 1 of you genius's will have an answer for me!

edit- k&n was just set on there, i have a cpl of different f/a's to try

Re: Winter 550/650 build

some people have problems trying to find out what wires go where because some ebox's have different colored wires. For example, i didn't have any purple wires in my 550 ebox, i had green. And my voltage reg from my 650sx had a red w/ black stripe. Its prob. different because yours came from a ts. its a little confusing but you'll figure it out sooner or later.
