WB2 64x build/conversion to a 63m 1100 engine

This winter I've decided to start downsizing my fleet. With the value of the Waveraider 1100's to be quite low even for a Mint one. I have decided to swap its engine over to my '97 WaveBlaster 2 platform rather then sell the Raider for cheap.

Here's some pics of the two skis as they sit now.

As for Mods:

The 63M will have...

- GroupK milled head
- Riva Adj Rev limiter
- Riva Intake manifold
- Riva Red intake reed spacer
- Riva flame arrestors and adaptors
- Primers installed
- 44mm carbs will be jetted by GroupK
- Vforce 3 reeds
- Bypass tee before the head pipe
- Tiny Tach

Hull on the B2 has a Protec ride plate & Westcoast 2 bar open intake grate. Stock impeller for now.

I will leave the B2 as a sleeper. I'll custom paint it but not this year.

Waiting on some more parts. Pics of the build will be posted.

Cool build..make sure to add plenty of pictures! I personally like the look of the B2 the way it is but im sure you can come up with some killer custom decals or a paint job. You don't see too many of the Green and white B2s

Agreed I was lucky to find this one. It was a road trip to say the least. Practically had to drive to SC to pick it up back in the day.

Can I ask though, why did you decide to do it with a B2 over a B1? Just because you already have the B2 hull?

I thought it would be an easy performance boost for the B2 and the B1 that I have I plan to do a Lamey stroker engine build for that ski.

That is a nice clean Raider.... and a nice WB2!!! Here are some before and after shots of my build. My B2 hull was in poor shape and needed a make over.

Not sure what pitch is in it now but i know it's pretty steep. It was a take off from a B1 that had an 1100 motor when the weather warms up i will find out and let you know. How far are you in to your project?

Re: WB2 64x build/conversion to a 63m 1100 engine

Not very.. lol I know its a simple swap over really. I was going to remove the two engines this weekend. Waiting on some more parts. Short one 44mm carb, needed a larger intake manifold for the carbs, some gaskets.

I plan to bring the 1100 engine home this week and get the carbs all sync up. Two of the carbs I need to remove choke plates and install primers. The third carb I ordered is setup for the primer already. Head is off and in the box waiting to get shipped off to Harry with the carbs once I have the primer's installed I'll ship all the parts to him.

I think I'll pull the raider pump and slide it into the B2 and see what the stock Raider1100 impeller will pull on the tach before I go ordering an impeller for it.

Re: WB2 64x build/conversion to a 63m 1100 engine

I will be using 3- new 44mm SBN Mikuni carbs. Part# BN44-40-8052

My base jetting will be:

125 H's
120 L's
2.3 needle & seat's
65 gr springs

I need to drill my Top case for the pulse lines.

Carbs will be mounted on a new Riva 63M manifold that I'll polish smooth. Hate all the pitting they come with. I'll also be using new V-Force III reeds and stuffers along with the Riva spacer. Engine has stock 81mm bores. I'll have to see how it runs and tune from there.

Has anyone else experimented with 44's on the 1100 engine? Any insight?

I thought Harry @ GroupK could dial these in for me but I was wrong. I was mislead on their website I guess they were only refering to the 44's on the 1200cc engine! Oh well I can improvise.
