Newbie X2 build

so i bought an 1990 x2 with squirel cage, sbn with primer 46mm carb, 17.5 pro ocean pro intake grate (the kind with the bars on the side extra deep i think) and ocean pro ride plate with fins on outside, renthal bars, and kill switch.

but i have been on here doing a lot of reading, so far right off the bat i am going to paint it. my primary riding will all types of water, smooth, medium chop, to 1 to 3 ft waves.

im looking for thoughts as a newbie NEVER RIDEN an x2. i want to keep a 650 motor. and stock pipe, and stock waterbox, but of course drill the waterbox. i would like your thoughts on the following ideas i had:

chop end of the hull? purpose for this ?
front hull fill ?
46mm carb to big for 650 ?

Re: Newbie X2 build

1. leave the hull alone, you have a lot to learn
2. Hull fill, wait till you've had the training wheels off awhile
3. 46 carb, you don't need it. A single 42 would be perfect for that ski. wanna sell the 46?
Buy a prop 15 or 15.5. rideplate, and a set of used UMI or Accusteer, a good place to start.
Regards

I have to agree. Just ride it for a while until you get used to it then try out (if you can) somebodys x2 that has been modded and see what you like.
