My 1998 Kawa 1100 STX and 1999 Kawa 1100 ZXI

Hey everyone. First off, just getting my skis rebuilt and looking to customize them. Thanks to wetracer for all the engine parts needed for the build!! The skis are getting Hydro Turf all around and Worx Sponsoons. Anyways, skis will be up and running in about a week or so, and want to paint them to match. Going for a complete blacked out look. But, I need the help of PWCtoday gurus to do this. While I would love to paint them myself, I am away on work duties and can't seem to think of when I would have the time. Therefore, I need some advice to tell my painter.

Finding someone to paint my skis in Columbia, SC has been difficult. Finally have two shops willing to do it. My questions are this:

1) What kind of paint is best recommended that will hold up to the UV, water, and weather?

2) If automotive paint is ok, what is considered the best prep process?

3) What kind and amount of clear coat is best?

4) Finally, any recommendations on specific processes, brand, etc with pics would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks everyone!

Ryan B.
