McQueen 1020 Blaster doo

Last year I dropped a 951 motor in a freinds blaster hull to see if it would fit. Looked pretty good. So that started everything. 951 blaster 2.JPG

Got a mod Hull from Scottie Mac. Pump is moved back and a V is put in the hull.

Team Mean Racing is putting together a 1020 motor for me. I have had great success with their motors.

Parts: skat set back magnum pump. Starting at 140 but plan on boring it to 144.
Dean Team MPEM seadoo ignition.
New Generation Novi 48's, Dual fuel pumps
Team Mean, intake, boost bottle, pipe/manifold mods.
MXZ reeds
Miller head modded by TMR
Case cooler
UMI steer/bars w/ odi grips
Jettrim seat
either xpl or gp1200 waterbox.
Battery moved back.

Re: McQueen 1020 Blaster doo

This is with the Peakpower mounting bracket:
1. Motor is 3/4 inch too high ( could move up mid shaft)
2. XPL pipe will not come close to fitting (could cut some off of exhaust manifold and adapter and use a Coffman GSX pipe). Could cut a big hole in the side of the ski for the pipe.

My driveshaft is 3 1/2 inches too short ( pump is moved back) so I will have to get one welded.
The midshaft may not need to be cut. Just have to get couplers to match.

Not real happy with this set up!

Re: McQueen 1020 Blaster doo

To get the pipe to fit and line up the center of the PTO to the Midshaft, I had to move the motor and move motor mounts of the Blaster stock mounting area.

To get this to work, I will need to cut out stock mounts and glass in 3/4 inch aluminum plate in the rear and up front for the single mount. I would go with the STOCK mount bracket and Stock seadoo motor mounts. Get the motor where I need it for the pipe to fit and alignment with the midshaft--then glass in plates.

I probably should have done this to start with!

Nice work. Your pics are great. Looks like the stock gas tank will stay.
