donor for jet boat build

I know this has probably been asked before but maybe there are some new thoughts on this. What would be the best donor ski to transplant into an aluminum boat? The boat I am thinking of using is a 15 foot alweld with a 52 inch 6 degree Vee deadrise bottom. The boat weighs about 345 lbs as it is now. Some of my plans are based on the boat that wolfriver(forum member) built. He used the same type of boat in a 14 ft. model.
I need the boat to be able to get on plane quickly and be able to run on some really shallow rivers with gravel bottoms. Will mostly be for 2 people with hunting gear, so probably about 600 pounds of people and gear.

Re: donor for jet boat build

This is my current project as well, but I'm still looking for parts. My understanding is that a 650 will push a 14' boat with 2 people and gear, but I think a 750 would be a better choice. More power, same package.

If I found the right deal on a 900, that would be my choice for a 14-16' flat bottom type. (what i'm looking for)

Kawasaki and Yamaha use a friendlier pump/bearing setup than seadoo, but it can still be done. There are a couple of threads about this in the seadoo pages, including a couple that are works of art.

http://www.glen-l.com/index.html shows how to cut up a hull if you're going that route.

http://1bicker1.bravehost.com/SpeedBoat.html another work of art by a member.

Seadoo Powered Bass Boat <- incredible craftsmanship
