Custom made expansion chamber

UNFINISHED
tuned 640 FATTY pipe. I will be using the stock steel 640 pipe flange & elbow for the front. The rear or "stinger" will pretude into the waterbox and be held buy set springs.

The pipe is being Jet-Hot "sterling coated".

I am producing 2 of this pipe / system for Tigershark 640 cc. Tuned to hit hard at 4800 RPM and peek at 6800 RPM with enough over rev to get into a 7100 limiter.
Tuned to make 60 HP per cylinder with appropriate other modifications.

Wow! That thing has huge volume, or is it just the way it looks in the pic. Is that the tuned exhaust it is replacing behind it?
I assume it is going to be a "wet" system?
Interesting, good luck with it.

Yes it is huge. It is about as big as I can fit in a Tigershark hull. The Red exhaust is stock 95 Daytona. I am using the stock manifold so it can be wet or dry, it will tell me what it likes.

Interesting..

Good ? Yes I have experience building pipes, this pipe is a computer design using all the 640 engine specs. It is tuned to a 644 cc "76Bx71S" with mod port time.
Even if Arctic Cat still built Tigers and there was a R&D base for a aftermarket pipe.
That pipe would have to be tuned to stock port heights & carburetors. This pipe is for my set up spicificly and without the other modifications would kill the prefomance not help.
I'm looking for a big hit when it gets in the pipes tuned RPM range. I ride this Tiger at 3/4 to full throttle 90% of the time.

In the pics the pipe was raw, rolled and tig welded from 18 gauge steel.
The long part "Divergent tube" farthest from the camera is that long to get the right roll size not the length.

Out of curiosity(again)...Why a Tigershark?

Re: Custom made expansion chamber

Cool, I love this kind of stuff. It has been my experience that huge volumes make huge performance gains in the rpm range the pipe is designed for. Cant wait to see how it works out for you.
I just re-read your initial post... Kind of sounds like your thinking dual exhaust... Maybe?

Re: Custom made expansion chamber

I was thinking dual , but all I could find points toward using the water injection & water cooled manifold to slow the pulse insted of sticking to dry length tuning.
Plus limited space & buildge heat... I see the most crutal aspect is not so much legth it is over all diameter and cone pitch. You just need to know how much the water cools to know how it will effect reverbrant charge speed.
Why a Tigershark, I just love the ski, I like the mini speedboat look I like the on edge handling. I like that people scoff at it as I unload, then the ski holds its ground and quiets its critics.
I have had peopled giving me S@#$ about having a Tigershark, then they had to be towed in by the same ski they were talking so low about. Priceless
