anybody done a jet ski mold? i want to...

first off, i want to make it clear that i am still moving right now and wont be able to do
anything for about 6 months.

now, that aside yets get down to business.

1. has anyone here made a mold?

2. what should i use to make a mold?

3. how much might it cost?

My plan at the moment

1. try and find a free 550-440 hull in northwest Arkansas.

2. separate the top and bottom.

3. modify the hull for a 650 pump

4. widen the foot tray

5. fill gas hole

6. make a mold of both

7. make a carbon or fiber custom hull

why? because i want to! and because i want a hull that is quality and not cheap smc. i might also plan on building custom skis . i want that 550 look with all the above, and i dont want to pay thousands for just one hull.

Woah..15 and in College? How exactly does that work? Most 15 year olds are freshman in High School..do you mean you are taking college classes while in High School?

Honestly, you will have more in just the materials than what a 550 is even worth..Why not spend the money on a newer standup? Even if you put all that time and money into a 550, it would still just be a 550.. You could take the money that you would spend on the materials alone and buy yourself a SXI 750 or squarenose SJ

yes and yes but what i am really making is a custom hull, not just a 550. i have never even ridden a stand up but i already know that i want that style hull and the smallness is awesome. i want a challenge to ride. but i want it in a quality hull (not SMC), with a big pump. i dont really like the look of the square nose either, and the 750 it to big and heavy.

thank you for a good post that is not just bashing

kawiman try riding a round nose superjet just for the hell of it, especially one that has tubbies. Hey even try riding an sxr that way you got ideas to play off of so it will assist in you making your custom hull.

How about try riding any standup first?
