Whats the deal?

I'm gonna be buying a sit down soon and have been looking around and seeing a few of the supercharged ones out there only 4 or 5 years old getting new engines put in them. Should i stay away from supercharged jetskis. I need one mostly for pulling kids tubing and teaching them to kneeboard and waterski.

Re: Whats the deal?

I emailed a guy that had one for sale and he said Seadoo had a problem with a ceramic washer breaking and getting into the engine. He got a new engine and supercharger out of it, but have they fixed the problem?

Re: Whats the deal?

As far as i know no. I really don't know that much about them as i have never worked on them but just from reading. The ceramic washers are the problem and i don't think they have fixed it. The only fix available was an aftermarket washer which voids the warranty. Someone may correct me on that but that is what i remember the issue being.

I would stay away from sea doo. They are not known for being reliable machines. I believe there estimated lifespan by bombardier is something like 8 years. I'm not saying there all bad but if you want a reliable machine and you don't need the fastest thing on the water than get a yamaha. Affordable, reliable, etc.
