What is the smoothest riding runabout

Forgive my stupid question, bt what 2 or 3 seat pwc has the smoothest ride in rough water? Ive had my 650sc out a lot and several times this year i got sick of the constant pounding, going home early, not wanting to fight the waves because thats no fun. I want to take off and go in any sort of water (inland not ocean) without getting beat up.

Re: What is the smoothest riding runabout

Not going to suggest that you buy a superjet but you really should buy a boat. If couch riding on a lake is too much for you (and you can't afford a newer bigger one) then you should really consider a solid used boat. Not trying to be a jerk just think it's something you should consider. Now if you are set on a ski then you should save up and get a seadoo gtx or yamaha cruiser. They are heavier so they cut through the waves and the newer ones IMHO need less maintanance and wrenchwork. You can get a 14-18 foot used boat that will not beat you up so much on the lake and it'll still be easy to launch and load.

Re: What is the smoothest riding runabout

I normally don't recommend Sea Poos, but I rode a friend's GTX, and also rode the Ultra 250 the same day. The Sea Doo rode more comfortably, had less bow spray, and performed very well. The Ultra 250 is pretty quick, but I am used to riding my brother in law's GP1200R Stage 3, so they all seem slow to me.

I'd have to agree with this, the SeaDoo GTX hull is probably the "cush master" when it comes to runabouts. Since you added a price requirement, I'd say an older GTX or Yamaha FX depending on your preferences etc.. The Yami is "probably" more reliable.

I think the FX turns better than the GTX.

If you want to go fast in the chop then I'd say GTX/SC, RXT, Ultra 250, or wait and see how the new Yamaha FX SHO turns out. Of course fast costs money........
