Too Soon For Ohio?

Itching to get out on the lakes in central and southern ohio. Checking the lake tempratures every day (it's cold). How much longer must I wait or is it OK to be in water less than 50 degrees if you have a wet suit?

Dude i have been out a couple times a week since the last week in february (32* water). If you have a wetsuit your fine. I ride a stand up so its even colder but make sure the water coming out of your pisser is warm.

Re: Too Soon For Ohio?

I have been going out on Caesars Creek on the nice days with the Kaw STX. I even fell in when the water was about 45 with no wet suit. Yes it sucked but it was still fun.

Last year I rode every month of the year here in NJ. Drysuit is the way to go below 40F though.

Re: Too Soon For Ohio?

I have ventured out a couple of times since first posting and had a great time. With full wet suite I was almost too warm.

Going out again to Caeser Creek on Friday weather will be sunny and air temp over 60.

Just need to give work a good excuse.

Re: Too Soon For Ohio?

the 650sx is going out Saturday. It will be 75 and I got a wet suite to try out. This will be the first trip out for my 650sx. Got it over the winter and did a lot of work to it. Hope I can get it tuned in with the cold water.

I could not get off work today so will be going out Saturday afternoon instead. Maybe I'll see you there.

Delaware is my favorite place to go around town have you been out there yet this year? This website says the lake temp is 51 degrees, Saturday the air temp is suppose to be 80 degrees you guys think I will need a dry suit or something for that?

I have been out three time now, with a wet suite. I would want the water to be much warmer than 51 before taking the wet suite off.
