new ski?

Hi , i had several skis over the years. 94 kawi xir,99 sedoo xpl, 96 seadoo hx and currently a 04 honda r-12. I ride the great lakes exclusively and am thinking about trading in my honda on a 08 stx-15f kawi. my honda porpoises way too much on lake michigan and the price and the hull not to mention the motor seem right on the kawi. i like to ride in all conditions including small craft advisories and like to just go 60 mile cruises. so wave jumping, ride in all conditions, gas mileage all interest me. any opions would be welcome

You just described to the letter every strong suit of the Yamaha FXHO. The Kawi is a great ski. Strong engine and nimble hull. Plus, it's really a bargain in '08. But it doesn't have nearly the range of the Yamaha and the hull is not particularly well suited for rough water, whereas that's where the Yamaha is in its' element. When I was looking for a new ski, my top priorities (along with reliability) were almost exactly the same as yours are. After carefully researching, I determined the FXHO was exactly what I wanted, and it has met or exceeded all my expectations. Either ski would be fun, but by what you just described, the FXHO is way more suited to your needs.
