Mid Virginia Jet skiers

Are there any people out there that are interested in getting together a jet ski group that would like to explore and enjoy get togethers on the Chesapeake - Rap river areas.
I would like to begin to get a list of skis together that would like to put in at say Urbanna or Deltaville and do exploring, camping rides, Bay runs and get togethers for sking and tubing.
As a sailor and Charter boat Capt. I have combed the mid Chesapeake and Rap river areas and have a set on where all the beaches, camp spots and marina stops are. I am looking forward to touring these areas this year on a PWC.
If any one out there is interested post up and lets see if we can put something together.
Who knows we may be able to form a great group.
Cheers !

spdjunky, I wished you resided in central fla. We need more people to due cruising. Not everyone is into racing. I understand that racing creates more income for some but racers are not the only people with skis. Thank You

I wish I lived your way too. I love Florida, especially right now with snow falling at an inch per hour...Keep looking for people in your area and hopefully you can get a group together.. As far as the racing goes I had my fill of it on road race bikes.
I really enjoy the water and exploring new beaches and places to camp and fish and what I have found is I can get to places full size boats cant...= less people.

Interesting post, I am new to owning a PWC, I recently sold a mid sized sailboat I kept in Annapolis for the past 25 years, and am ready for something new. I'd be interested in some sightseeing by water, and would use my small motorhome to tow my PWC and camp with. I was interested in the Eastern PA River Runners Norfolk to Coinjack trip, but my sisters kid is getting married that day! I already traveled this piece of water, serving as navigator and watch captain, taking a Nordic 44 from Annapolis to Jupitor, FL twenty years ago. 7 knots per hour, 64 foot clearance and a 7 foot draft made for an interesting trip till we got outside on the ocean. I think the ICW is too shoal to do that now.
I am located in PA, north of Baltimore, so I would not make more than a few trips down your way. I have good memories of Sunfish racing out of Yankee Point ten years or so ago, a good party crowd, nice river. I am already thinking of a Potomac River day trip, launching by National Airport, around cherry blossom time with my GF on back. Bought a nearly new Yamaha FX SHO a few weeks ago, anxious to try it out.
Sign me up.

Ed,
I got your name on the list.. I think it is cool that you too are a sailor and looking for something different. Its the same for me. When we meet up I would like to hear more about that delivery trip.
I just did the National Hospice Turkey Shoot Sailboat race out of Yankee point in late Oct. You are right, great area and very nice people.
Congrats on your new ski!! I will keep you in the info loop for some proposed outings and news.. Looking forward to some fun trips this year.

I put in just about 5 miles up the piankatank river from Deltaville, and would be interested in doing some riding with others around the area. I found that there is a PWC club in or around Gloucester County, however, there is no website, nor have I seen anyone lurking from this area on this site or GH.

Doubt I could do any camping / overnighters (still have some young kids with lots of commitments) but day runs would be cool.

By the way, I ride a couch too (saw your earlier post and the resulting flame sprays from the crowd - sorry to see that)

Keep me in mind
