Lake Barkley

I just moved to the Lake Barkley area in KY and was wondering if there are anyone on this site that rides there. Let me know and we will ride together sometime.

Re: Lake Barkley

My friends and I ride KY lake all the time. You could meet up with us sometime. It's not to far from where you ride, maybe 45 minutes. We generall ride in the Aurora, KY area. There are several ramps nearby. We live in Murray.

Re: Lake Barkley

We are going to build a house on Kentucky Lake so will be riding there next summer. Hoping the house will be done by then. I think it will be pretty close to Aurora so if you see a Yamaha VX Deluxe in black(with maybe a cruiser seat) and a FX Cruiser HO in platinum, give me a wave. My sister has the same Waverunners so you may be seeing double.

One thing I heard about Barkley is it isn't as deep as Kentucky Lake. Just thought you might like to know.

Yeah I don't mess with Barkley.. I've heard WAY too many stories of people nailing stumps, running in ground, etc and getting hurt. I stick with KY Lake, I know it's plenty deep in all the places I ride. I'm not a fan of taggin bottom on a big stab, I've done it many times in the coves of KY Lake. I've learned to get closer to the channel!

Thanks for the heads up on KY Lake. I'll remember to stay out in the channel even there and to tell the wifey. I wish I had a depth guage on the Waverunner so I would know.

Re: Lake Barkley

You should be fine almost anywhere in KY Lake, just cruising on a Waverunner. I have to look out where I ride because I spend a lot of time going under! Just for cruising, you should have no worries!
however I still wouldn't even want to cruise Barkley. Just driving over the Highway 68/80 bridge you can see how shallow Barkley is. Stumps and sand bars everywhere.

Re: Lake Barkley

Thanks again. I was down at KY Lake yesterday meeting with my builder. No Waverunners with me though but the lake looked beautiful. Wish I would have brought them for the day but really didn't have time after meeting with him anyway.

I ride Lake Barkley all the time and have never hit anything.
I have come close a few times, I just try to stay in the channel as much as I can

Re: Lake Barkley

Hey guys. I just moved to the Clarksville aea. Good info on Lake Barkley. I am planning on putting in a lot of the time at Paris Landing on Kentucky Lake / Tennessee River. I hear Centerville lake is perect also. Also gonna spend lot of the time on the Cumberland River. I live about 5 miles from the boat ramp on Riverside Drive.

See you all out there this summer....
