you guys alive?

Winter is almost over! We'll be riding in no time.

I just de-turfed my sj today. Going to paint and returf.

I have some slight stress cracks near my pole bracket area...you guys have any ideas on how to fix this? Would a backing plate be better than glassing the area or should I just glass it?

How's everything else going? Any build progress on anything?

Re: you guys alive?

I've been waiting on too many parts to make much progress on my personal stuff, but check out these Blowsion Deystroyer Tubbies I just picked up yesterday from Zig. These are the cat's A S S of tubbies!!! Friggin' solid and already curved to fit the SJ hull perfectly - then just 3 bolts to install on each side. You can even just use silicon and remove them in minutes and ride w/o them if you want.

They also make a set to fit the SXR, but those are shorter in length (race legal).

Before anyone asks, I already held these up to my FX1 and they won't fit. Zig also held them up to a SXi Pro, and they won't fit there either. According to the listing, these fit the new SJ hull as well, but I can't say from personal experience. However, I can say that I held them up to the 90 SJ I'm putting them on, and they follow the curve of the hull and bond flange perfectly. Lining up and installing these will be a piece of cake, and they're obviously way more durable than my T2s.

C'mon spring!!

Re: you guys alive?

Yes im alive in Michigan lol. The snow storm only dumped about 4 inches of snow thank God! It's melting right now..

Im adding a MSD enhancer along with a skat 6 vein pump to my already limited 96xp. Im working on getting a nose brace for my 550 and kicking around if i want to hydro turf the side rails? I just don't want it to come apart when i jump waves or worse tear pieces off... I think next year im seling my 550 parts and putting a 750 motor in my ski.. I have a 95 750ss which i don't ride that often i might have to take her apart..

Yep. They're impressive in person as well - clearly the next major step in the evolution of tubbies.

Funny thing is while I was waiting for the Deystroyers to arrive, I won another set of tubbies on eBay for cheap ($11, yes eleven, + $20 shipping). They're the kind like Tim Gray runs on his SNs - basically 1/2" thick chunks of plastic/teflon roughed up with 60 grit, made by Skiworks - but shaped much like tubbie 1s. Now I have to decide where these $11 tubbies will go. My son said he'd rather not have them on his SJ, but he's only experienced my T2s, so he thinks all tubbies are twitchy. I've still got my backup SJ that could use them, or maybe my FX1, or maybe even my Blaster - and Rod already volunteered to have me install them on his ski. I dunno ...
