SE Wisconsin - Sat 8-15

Anybody riding this Sat? Bender, Pewaukee, Big Cedar, etc? I have nothing going on all day and it looks like it is going to be nice. Burn off a tank in the Morning? Ride all day?

Tempting if it were closer to me and early. Would you consider Winthrop? What kind of ski do you ride?

Winthrop Harbor? I've never been. Sure, why not. Where do you put in? Is there a beach or some place to fuel? Launch fee? Minor details. I ride an 04 SJ. Motor is bone stock. Completed footholds and 3/4 completed handholds. Intake, Impeller, and rideplate. I also have an 06 GP1300 - Totally stock. Early works for me, as long as that doesn't mean before 8:00 at the ramp.

Re: SE Wisconsin - Sat 8-15

There is a free ramp to launch from and plenty of parking. No beach to fuel but it wouldn't be hard to ride back to the launch and walk up and get your gas.

I just found out my fiancee is working on Saturday so that gives me more time to ride. Where are those other lakes you mentioned? I don't mind riding Lake Michigan but don't want to wear a wet suit if it is cold.

I am still a little rusty. I only rode twice last year and last Friday for the first time this season.

The lake is going to be FLAT the next couple days, otherwise I would be up for it.

Water temp is 58.......better wear two suits. I did for the Sheboygan race last weekend. All the warm water is over on the Michigan side.

Re: SE Wisconsin - Sat 8-15

I know no-one. I'm just looking to ride somewhere that is in the neighborhood of an hour or so from Milwaukee(flexible). I have spent most of my time out on Pewaukee Lake and Nagawicka Lake. They are about 40 min west of Milwaukee, but they are nothing special. Big Cedar is about an hour north of Milwaukee near Slinger - once again, nothing special. Any suggestions?

Re: SE Wisconsin - Sat 8-15

Winthrop Harbor is really good. It's free, and clean (& cold right now). Even if it's flat, there are some big-*** boats that come out of that harbor, so you can wait for them to pull out & jump their wakes until your worn out. Then take a rest, find another boat on its way back in to the harbor and follow that one (jumping the wakes). Repeat until your beat.

Re: SE Wisconsin - Sat 8-15

Senor - A buddy and I are thinking of riding a smaller inland lake tomorrow. It is called Silver Lake and about 20 minutes west of Kenosha.

34Jim - I'm staying off Lake Michigan if it is 58 degrees. I ride a standup and water that cold doesn't sound fun.
