Areas to ride north of Kalamazoo, MI

Hey guys,
I normally ride north of Muskegon on White Lake on the west side of the state. I was thinking about brining my ski down by my girlfriend's house in Hastings. Are there any good spots to ride stand ups north of Kalamazoo? Besides Gun Lake? Or is Gun Lake my only choice for this area. I will also take suggestions for areas north of Hastings, but south of Grand Rapids.

Oh I'll ride the big lake, I haven't been out there yet though, I just got my ski this year and have only had it out a couple of times. I will just be in the Hastings area that weekend and want to ride down there.

About a week ago your side of the big lake had 5-8 foot swells for about 3 days straight. Lucky you.

Re: Areas to ride north of Kalamazoo, MI

Last year was my first time in big waves on the big lake and it was my first season on the stand-up.

It's survival riding, but it's fun.

It was a little scary at first, but then I had a blast.

Just make sure you go out in a group in case someone has trouble.

Gull lake is nice and about 30 minute south of Hastings on 43, if you can get on wall lake in delton, 15 minutes south on 43 that lake is nice to but has no public access. Have fun

SJ-NUT, have you ridden on Gun Lake at all? I have never been there, I know it is relatively busy and sorta small. Does Gull Lake have public access? I would like to ride a lake that is sandy and has public access as I may have a couple friends with me.
