whyd they take out mod?

If mod was such a great class and was the "premeir" class, why was it taken?

Just wondering i always hear "removing mod killed the sport"

"mod" and "open" are pretty much the same, few changes to the rules.. and a new name..

Re: whyd they take out mod?

the reason the mod class was originally tooken out was it turned aftermarket back to the oems, in otherwords, superstock sold cases, cylinders, pistons, cranks, etc; for the oems

mod sold these things for aftermarket people, so mod had to go and so did most the aftermarket people

the end result was the loss of sponsorship for thousands of jet ski racers and the advent of the true factory teams who were supported by everyone else blowing up there superstock engines trying to stay on that edge to keep up with the factory teams

so instead of thousand of jet ski racers who were getting help, maybe twenty people were getting help and some of them were getting big bank

it was devastating
