BooKoo Arenacross Championship Series Goes With Timed Practice For Heat Race Starting Position

For the first time in the history of amateur and professional motorcycle racing, the Advanstar produced BooKoo Arenacross Championship Series will attach transponders to every motorcycle entered to allow timed practice sessions to determine heat race starting positions.

“We have elected to provide a fair and impartial way to qualify riders for their heat race starting position,� said Advanstar Race Director Mike Kidd. “This is a huge expense, however the idea of early entries, luck of the draw or points will not play a role in our arenacross program. Riders will pick their starting position by timed practice sessions, with the fastest rider getting first pick.�

Transponders will also be used throughout the program each day to score the races, allow riders to track their times, results and all race statistics. This will instantly become a very viable tool for team managers, mechanics, riders and parents.

Transponder timing and scoring will also provide quick posting of results along with complete event data for the press and the TV production crew.
