Re: R5WaterXRacing Endurance & Closed Course info for the 2010 Season...

It will be per IJSBA regulation in the Rulebook..You do not need an accufloat system as long as you take the time and know what your doing. It WILL be accurate and fair. Last yr we just threw out some buoys because we were doing it as a fun thing this yr its for real

Re: R5WaterXRacing Endurance & Closed Course info for the 2010 Season...

Do you have to Pay a entry fee? It won't be fair unless its secure, and the accufloat is. However I think its great to have prepares your racers for WF to Place in slalom. Also makes the racer better on the closed course. also can bring in some extra income for the promoter which is a good thing. I suggest keep it cheap and more will particapate.

Re: R5WaterXRacing Endurance & Closed Course info for the 2010 Season...

Brian, maybe somebody has an accufloat?? 3rd coast did at one time. Braden had one too. Back in the day, we practiced slalom 2 times a week. Come race day, I could tell if a bouy was off by one foot. I just do not want u to have to listen to a bunch of people complaining cause the course is moving during competition. And it takes a lot of time to adjust the course. Especially if u can not stand up in the water while setting it up. Just some things to think about. I know u will give it your best!!

Re: R5WaterXRacing Endurance & Closed Course info for the 2010 Season...

Yes it will be secured VERY well..DONT hit em or your gonna go flyin! We will be securing our slalom with 3+ cinder blocks and it will be accurate. No one I know of has an accufloat system and the way Im going to do it will work ive tested it!

Yes there will be a entry fee and thats why we are lowering the race fees to offset some costs as well.

Thx bbigfish

Re: R5WaterXRacing Endurance & Closed Course info for the 2010 Season...

If you have say a 12' line connected to 3 cinder blocks the line will move! left and right, back and forth so it won't be accurate and will be unfair Brian. You need a fix system. I applaud you for adding slalom.

Re: R5WaterXRacing Endurance & Closed Course info for the 2010 Season...

DZ the buoys WILL move with a fixed system as well but they will only move by approx 1ft or so but ill ALWAYS go back to its original position. They are in water and the water is always changing. It WILL NOT be unfair. Trust me I know how they used to do it in Region 5 racing an they only once used a borrowed accufloat system. The meaning of slalom is to make the racers better and have them prepared for anything. If they have 3+ blocks attached to it it wont move...trust me!

Ill check with minnix though...Thx!

The way we will be setting it up is VERY easy and VERY fair. We have made sure of this..otherwise we wouldnt do it.
