My HydroSpace and 3D Summary

Well this hat I made up expresses my feelings point blank
I gave it to momar as a gift. He wore it proudly!

I knew there was a use for that hat that I got as swag last year.

I have to say I rode a 3D at the WF's and I liked it.
I dont think SD ever intened it to be a "stand-up" that is just one of the modes you can ride it in. Anyone hung up on any stand up issue with the 3D is missing the point....
With the 951 in it, its a fun ski to ride which I think is all SD ever intended for it to be. It has great handeling (aka the XPL... best handeling runabout ever built) Its relativly light and playfull comapred to all the other RA'a out there. I think with a few mods it would be a blast to ride.
Kudos to Sea-Poo.

Yeah well you are a select few. Would you ever buy one? Don't you agree that the XPL was a much superior pwc. The 3D watered down the XPL and it definitely is not a good stand up. Essentially Sea-Doo lost a great suspension seat in favor of that uncomfortable rinky dink seat. When I saw Fish ride that thing in the Bounty Hunt in the knee mode I just about gagged. Why a Pro put himself in that position is beyond me. He looked like a beginner on a true stand up for the first time. I'm sorry but that thing is just ridiculous. With so much promotion behind it for the past couple of years and it is still a lame duck, I can't honestly see why Sea-Doo keeps it around. I'm curious what it will do with the 951 in it but they should have just kept the XPL around and they would have been way better off. Don't you agree on that?

When did they start putting 951's in the 3D's? Sorry I'm not up to speed on the couches.

SL, did Momar have a Hydrospace?? I wish I'd known Momar was going to be there, I'd like to pass on the information that his Prius is being recalled (looking out for his safety).

My local dealer still has a "3D - Watercraft of the Year" poster up in their parts department, it makes you want to LOL when you walk in there. I hope the parts lady doesn't confuse it with the standups I buy parts for

The new 3D will get the 951 DI engine. It is not a couch. It has an identity crisis, LOL.
momar does not have a HS. He needs to sell his SX-Rs first. I heard about the Prius recall Sat. night too from the evening news and wanted to tell him on Sun. but forgot. I'm sure he'll get the card in the mail

That's too bad Momo didn't sold his old square nose and his SXR for 12000$ like he thought he could and cannot afford one.

Mac loaned his to Riff but no HS demo for Slowmo...

The XPL is a great PWC and I am sorry its not around any more. But a stand up rider who has not riden one is like a sport bike rider bashing a Gold wing for not being a true motorcycle.... its apples and oranges. The 3D is not ment to be a replacement for a stand-up..
That being said I think they should have been alowed to compete (800cc models in stand up mode) in the ski classes. If they suck so bad then no one will race them anyway right? I guess there is alwyas the fear that a SXR rider might get run over by a 3D but no more than the fear of an XPL rider getting run over by a RXP but now im really getting off topic.
Anyway, yeah I would buy one if I was in the market for another PWC. I really liked the idea of being able to ride it in different modes.. especially the cart mode even though I felt a little cramped at 6'1" and goggles are definatly requred that close to the water. If you could get around the DI and put some carbs on it and a pipe(s) I think it would be an awesome ride.

I think maybe that pro has a little more professionalism and love of PWC in general than a lot of stuck up, insecure stand-up riders on this site.

I know that sounds harsh but I dont know how someone could gag at the sight of it when they havnt even ridden one. I used to be a true blue Yami rider until I started racing... after seeing what the right rider and equpiment can do on all shapes and sizes of PWC I dont descriminate aginst any of them.

I guess we just see it differently. The Bounty Hunt was the low point for me at the WFs. What made it worse was that it is placed right at the end right before the 2 biggest motos of the entire week (Pro Runabout and Pro Ski). The last thing I want to be bored with is this Bounty Hunt on a 3D. Like I said, maybe you enjoyed it? Sea-Doo probably wishes there were thousands like you so they can actually move some of them off the showroom floor Well at least it finally got the engine that it should have come with all along.
