I recently exchanged my 271000905 98 GSXL stock impeller for a 271000654.

I spoke with SBT tech support and he told me I might lose some rpms at the top end with this different impeller. If I wanted to, I could send it back and swap for a prop that's more like my swirl type original prop.

I'm topping out at 6500 rpms. I'm told this GSXL should be topping out at 6900 rpms.

Is it safe to say that the incorrect prop is costing me these last 400 rpms?
