Kawasaki HIN decoder?

I was curious to get more information about my VIN and figured you would be the right ones to ask or you could direct me to someone that would know

old JS400 HINs went as follows::

KAW_ _ _ _ _ (5 digits tell what production number it is) _ _ (2 digits tell month) _ _ (2 digits tell year)

but my 1986 kawasaki X2 has a completely different VIN style:

KAW60909E686

any info on those VINs?

Re: Kawasaki HIN decoder?

after looking at several other 86 VINs we may have it slightly decoded

KAW6 (may tell model) 0909 (production number) E6 (A code for month) 86 (year)

I just need some more confirmation, and I don't know anyone who would know....
