Impellor question

I have a 2002 gtx di and as far as i know it has the factory impellor on it. I saw on the sbt website that if i send the core in and it is stainless then it will be like 25 bucks for a reman job. How do i tell if it is stainless and not aluminium. I assume it would be stainless. I just had the pump rebuilt and the guy at the shop filed the edges of it and said it should be fine. My ski is now cavitating. I will check for other problems but if i narrow it down to the impellor i just need to know what i have. If it is aluminium what would a reman one cost without a core? Thanks for any info.

Re: Impellor question

Since they are not a pure stainless you can try and stick a magnet to it. If it's aluminum it won't stick at all. If you have aluminum we can not sell you an impeller. If you need new one watercraftsuperstore.net has them for sale.

Re: Impellor question

Ok thanks for the info. I checked the prop and it is stainless. I also found the seal was bad so i replaced it. The ski is not cavitating now so i think its fine. At least in know now that it is stainless and i know where i can turn if it needs replacing. Thanks again guys!!!
