core question

I have picked up a 2003 GTI that needs a new engine, the one that came with the ski is missing the head and the top cover, can I use this for a core or do I need to buy a head and cover to send in with it, or can I just pay a prorated core charge?

Do you have the 717 motor? If so, the head would be an additional 200.00 and the head cover 90.00. You would probably be able to find a used one a lot cheaper and send it in.

yes it's the 717 motor, do i need to get the bolts too, i found a head and covor for alot cheaper than those prices, also does it matter if the shortblock is a silver 717 and the head and cover are from a white 717?

Yes we do need the bolts. The color does not matter as long as it is for the 717.
