Re: Lubbock Texas

Well as a Tech alum I can give you my extremely biased opinion. Its a great school, the campus is beautiful, wonderful traditions and tons of hot women! I thoroughly enjoyed my 4 years there and to this day some of my best friends are those that I met there. Now for the cons given the purpose of this board would be the lake situation, or lack there of. You have 2 lakes right outside of town, one of which is private and both about big enough to go around in circles. If you want to drive a bit there is White Rock which isn't much bigger and not much to look at but its pretty much where everyone with something that floats goes.

I see you haven't been there in a little while... White River all but dried up and while it has seen a little water it is still empty.

The two circle Lakes are Buffalo & Ransom Canyon, but Buffalo is only good enough for a quick escape for the day and is like you stated very small. Ransom Canyon is private.

On the other hand they have opened/built a new one south of Post, TX. Lake Allen Henry, which I have been on before it filled up. Very nice lake not all that big, but big for those parts and is about 1 hr and 10 minutes from Lubbock. Other than that it would almost be a weekend trip to go to a lake....
