Hull damage

Im sure this has been gone over a million times, but can I get opinions if this is a gel fill or should I do fiberglass then gel over it?

Re: Hull damage

if its the bottom i would just mix up some fiberglass resin and pour it on there and rub it over the whole bottom with ur spreder and get them filled in and smooth

Re: Hull damage

Most of it IS on the bottom of the hull, except the first pic is right next to the eye in front.

Re: Hull damage

Would the gel be about the same as the resin, except with color pigment? The first pic is right on the nose where you hook up the winch strap.

Re: Hull damage

You can buy a gelcoat repair kit from west marine. It comes with color tubes so you can mix it to match your hull. Mix up the right color, add the hardener, and apply to the areas after you clean them up with sand paper and acetone. let it dry then sand with stages of wet sand paper..... you can buff it out to the point where you won't even know there was a repair. Just did my SXR and it came out nice.

good luck.
