"Beach" launch or no rocks next to ramp at Lewisville or Lavon?

Does anyone know of a park that would be cool with me "beach" launching? I haven't had my ski long and due to a shift in the job market I have alot more free time during the weeks. I would rather be out on the water but, this means loading and launching alone. Most of the boat ramps I have been to have huge rocks for a hundred yards in either direction leaving me to run back to the truck, park it and run back to the ski, then do it all again. I am on lookout for a beach area that Is either right next to the ramp or one I wouldn't get hassled at backing the truck down the the water. Just a note, I don't use a trailer so it wouldn't take much to get down and 4 wheel drive with mud tires if I got too deep. Here is a pic of my rig.

Nice ski! I've only been to Lewisville a couple of times.

Have you checked out Copperas Park on the west side of the I-35 bridge? I doubt they let you beach launch but it's pretty sandy just around from the ramp. It's costs $5 to launch.

I don't know if it would be any easier but if you had an anchor bag & filled it sand or a rock or two, it would hold the ski until you got back. I know there's little, if any, storage on an X2 since I used to have one but the bags collapse down pretty small or you could just leave in the water until you were finished riding.

Lake Bridgeport, while a drive from Plano, has a couple of places where you can back into the water & drop instead of using the ramps.

Hope this helps!
Dave

While not exactly down the road from Plano, Lake Somerville has beach launching and boat ramps.

Re: "Beach" launch or no rocks next to ramp at Lewisville or Lavon?

Man, I wish I could. I'll be takin a lazy float in a tube down the Guadalupe this weekend. I am still getting up to speed on this ski, never ridden an X2 or stand up before. After riding the X2 I think I,ll never want to ride another sit down unless I'm running a hundred miles in a day. heh.

Im going thru the steering right now, I have one of the X2s that has the sloppy steering and doesnt turn as well left as it does right so, I'm bolting it up and going to grind down the bump-stops a bit for more throw.

On a side note, when everyone is out at the cove, does anyone bring tunes?
I only ask cause I built a lil (well not really little) floating radio. Damn thing will jam hard all day. That is, if I make it back from the Guadalupe this weekend with it in one piece.
