Small pin 750ss cylinder on SX-R good or bad?

From what I have heard you can use a 750 cylinder on an SX-R...? I know it will all bolt up fine, but was wondering what it will change? Its a small pin cylinder also if that makes any difference? I know the tranfer ports are smaller and the port timing is different, but what will it change as far as performance? I an also going to run 750 81mm pistons.. any info will help Thanks!

Re: Small pin 750ss cylinder on SX-R good or bad?

The SX cylinders port time areas and durations are are not that much different than that of the SXR cylinders. In fact the differences are not even worth talking about...
The main difference you will see performance wise is a reduction of apx. 19cc displacement with the 81mm bore. Again not enough to even talk about...
Defenitely doable IMHO.
