New Engine Break In??

I feel like this is a dumb question but here goes....
Is it ok to modify a brand new engine before its broken in?? I want to put a pipe, head, msd enhancer and new flame arrestors on a brand new 701. Is the break in process the same with these components added??

Re: New Engine Break In??

Just make sure its jetted correctly or it won't be brand new for very long. The parts you listed don't necessarily mandate rejetting, I'm just saying...

Re: New Engine Break In??

Actually you will definitly have to play with your carb if you put a pipe and higher flow f/a on there compared to a stock pipe/ f/a you got WAY more air flow going on so carb tuneing will have to be done ive done all of those things you listed above just i got a 46mm carb i sugest you do the same might as well get a new impeller while your at it haha
(cant spell) lol
