Cheap mods for yamaha super jet

I have a 1990 650 yamaha superjet i feel its alittle under power not enough acceleration and speed any ideas that i could do cheap.

Mill the head and lighten the flywheel. Try to find a pipe. Get a good prop.

However, most guys will tell you to save your money and get a 701 ASAP - but the lightened flywheel can go right on to the 701 anyhow, and so can most pipes.

Mill the head, lighten the stock flywheel, remove the rev limiter from the stock CDI, advance the timing, skim the intake manifold, get a good prop, get a scoop intake grate, find a pipe.

That will make that 650 run better than many 701's.

i had a piped proped 650 w/ a head and cdi that ripped hard! harder than a stock 61x for sure

back in the day I had a 650 sj with milled head, riva red pipe, k&N filter, Carbon reed petals and a stainless prop and it was faster than my stock 2000 twin carb sj when i bought it brand new.... Add an MSD Enhancer and it comes alive even more, also lightening the flywheel is a great compliment to these other mods
