| Re: Noobi Here 1) re GPS
Yes , I do... I got the cheapy ETREX gps , cost me $40 on craigslist,,,they are $45 on ebay if I recall...at LEAST you will get a heading back to the dock. Frankly without it I was lost as hell sunday and low on fuel... saved my a$s...
1a) stay near open water, within sight or very close to where you docked for first time out,,, you don't want to get lost, or have ski problems on your first ride...5 miles from home.
2) I don't recommend riding alone, especially first time out... get a buddy....If you're near Lee county, I'll ride w/u, or find some1 here...or greenhulk you might get lucky
3) bring your phone, if you don't have a good dry bag then triple zip loc it.
4) obvious stuff,,, make sure you have rope, two ropes, an anchor if necessary, water, a good l-jacket, sun screen, beer, smokes, hat, water, water shoes or sandals, let someone know where you are launching from and heading and when you expect to be back, don't get silly first ride, did I mention water?

| Re: Noobi Here LOL, please don't be scare, lol, be normal and take normal caution, Spim is helping you with all this info and let you know about riding out there, is really different, for sure, because in the case you gp get broke, you can not take a walk to find a tow or gas, lol, you will need to stay until somebody help you.
if is this you first ride, stay close of the ramp and be familiar with all around you, use your gps if you get it, and after that you will feel more confident, otherwise if you go to virginia key, there are many pepople arround you than would help you, for sure I will going out this weekend

| Re: Noobi Here oh and ps.. although I caution against solo rides, personally i think solo rides are my favorite, i just don't get real silly. You can stop, float in the middle of the water, enjoy the spectacular views, especially on a couch ! Use it as one and kick back an relax... Driving around at WOT is great but don't forget to take advantage and get back to nature. Turn the engine off, float for awhile and appreciate where you are, its beautiful out there !

| Re: Noobi Here First of all , what condition is your jet , What year , If you never had a boat or a jetski before I will recommend you to stay close to the shore or at least to others jetski, boats . Take a GPS if possible (don't forget to mark your ramp ) , A cell is a must , I will also recommend any kind of noise maker the loud it sound the best . At last but very important check the drain plugs and once you'll be riding check how close is the hull top to the water ( in case the jetski take water youll notice right away).
Good luck ...... Just have fun , Don't be worry but be safe |
