hey guys first off let me introduce myself im kevin and im 22. im looking into buying a ski. it will be my first but im probably leaning towards something new maybe a sea doo wake. but i was just wondering where you guys got yours at and whats a good price now a days and how much will i be looking to spend. what dealers are around the broward / tri county area to look at. also i would be able to either finance or pay it off so if you all could have some input it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: looking into buying a ski.where and whats a good price

I went with Jet Ski Of Miami. I know a bunch of people that bought from that place, and due to various affiliations I have they also cut me a good deal on my 09 VX. Not only did I get a good price, I also got the boat show deal (free 5 year warranty).

Jet Ski Of Miami has been around forever, I think it is the oldest PWC dealer in town. They also sell Boston Whaler, Key West, Cobia, and I think some other boat. In PWCs they have Yamaha, Kawi, and Sea-Doo. They will not be here today and closed tomorrow, they are still doing a good export business even with the economy.

As for what to get - that is up to you. I do not think there are any bad choices really.

If you can possibly hold off for the Miami International Boat Show in Feb, there will probably be more "show only" deals. If that is too far away, the Ft Lauderdale boat show (largest boat show for mega yacht sales by the way) is in October.

Or you can buy now, but it is peak season so do not expect too many great deals. PWCs are still selling.

Yamaha,Seadoo depends on what you want. To say yamaha's are the best choice I don't agree besides being the lowest price ski out there.
Take a look at what the the guys use as rental ski's and how many hours in-till they rotate them out. The Seadoo GTI is a low priced doo that is used alot as a rental just like the VX is the doo will get more hours of use before its sold. I would try to get a ride on the ski you think you want to buy just to see if you like it before you buy one. I bought a new VX a couple of years back and sold it with only 12 hours of use it wasn't for me but is a ok ski.
Just my 2 cents on the subject

Buy a leftover ('05, '06, '07) Honda ski from Rick Case Powerhouse. Good reliable ski, great price.

Both of those shows are just freakin awesome by the way , I've been to both and neither time was I actually in the market for a boat.

If you buy a used ski, you "may" inherit some1 else's problem but you will save thousands. So much depends on your budget, if your 22 and not a trust fund baby, then spending 12K on a new ski might be getting a little carried away,, but its good for the economy !

Re: looking into buying a ski.where and whats a good price

thanks for the input. ya ive been leaning going to jet ski of miami and maybe getting a new like 07 or 08 model.. also i see that sea doo is running some kind of special till mid august for like 2800 rebate not to sure the details of that but ill have to look into it. rick case power house is this the rick case out off 75 in weston if so then i will have to check them out also.. ive been looking on cragislist and stuff also and i do see the deals you can get on them but i just think to myself why would someone be getting rid of this with so little time used has it had nothin but problems or wut. but the money issue isnt to much of a biig deal i got a good job and i get paid decent and frankly i dont want to hear none of you people on hear try to tell someone there a trust fund child cause you dont even kno me and its just a way for you to lose my respect. if i didnt have a job that could pay for what i wanted to play with then i woudnt be looking for new toys. but i have been leaning towards the buying new but older model do you all kno any other place that still have older new models in stock?? thanks again eveyone and no disrespect or hard feelings to neone just friendly and helpful input is appreciated. also ive been leaning toward getting the non turbo models because i dont think i really need all those extras it would be fun but i think its just more stuff to go wrong so ive been lookin into the 155 hp models

Hm wierd I recommend you look into a few brands there is riva in pompano they have a ton of skis to look at. I go there sometimes just to look at the stock they have on hand. I highly recommend yamaha go there and chek out all of their skis. Let us know what you decide to get and come join us on the water one day we will show you places to ride. Where are you going to be launching from? I don't have insurance on my ski.
