Fort Lauderdale / pompano Jet ski Launch areas

So kind of newbie question but what places close to ft. lauderdale that you can launch the jet ski on the beach? I was planning on going out this memorial day weekend and I want to make sure we go to the right area...

I was looking at this area

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sour...10514&t=h&z=17 -- 14st Causeway

Alsdorf park is that a decent spot? Remember that I would like to drop off people on the beach and pick them up

Thanks

welcome, try searching the forum before asking questions as they may have been asked several times and possible answered .

The ramp off of 14th st street and the inter coastal is a great spot and just a few minutes from the inlet that has a great little beach area that many people beach at all the time. good luck.

check this link also, good luck.

Alsdorf Park is OK, but gets very hectic on weekends, especially holiday weekends!
The only place that you can "legally" pick up and drop people off is at Hillsboro Inlet, at the little beach on the south side of it and on the inside..... NOT THE OCEAN side!
And as far as anywhere south of Pompano......forget it as far as beaching, although there are several places to launch.
You can also launch in Hollywood at John Lloyd Park, east end of Dania Beach blvd, there is a little beach on the inside from the ocean too, but it is a long ride back out to the ocean through Everglades inlet and you are dealing with the cruise ships,etc..... as well a LOTS of cops who keep a very close eye on jetskiers in that area. .

there are buoys to mark a channel where you can beach your ski, usually around where the hotel ski rentals are. as far as parking and getting your ski to the beach, maybe you can park at that beach portal just south of the inlet. meter parking, and maybe walk it out on a beach dolly, they let ultralite para gliders take off and land there i dont think theyd get to pist.

Re: Fort Lauderdale / pompano Jet ski Launch areas

they are not really good places to launch in broward... im in west sunrise and most times i just launch from any ramp close to downtown miami... so you can beach in islands and so on and spend a long day in the water.
the 14th will be your best option tought, if you want to launch in broward. close access to the sea.
