Any good lakes in south dade that allow wave runners

Does anyone know of a good lake (not blue lagone) (has black water???) in south dade that allows wave runners leagaly ??? A few years ago (not going to mention how many) i used to water ski in what is now three lakes, there is no longer public access. I have checked out a lot of old rock pits in the homestead / south dade area and they are all posted no swimming, fishing, tresspassing ect. It is a shame that with all of the lakes in south fla. the local government dose not want annyone to use them for recreation. I visited my father up in lake placid over labor day weekend and all of the lakes have public ramps and parks at the lakes incouraging public use!!!

I'm on the same "boat"... (get it?)
Always wanted to go to that huge rock pit by the West of the Turnpike (between the 836 and Okeechobee), nice greenish-blue-flat water and always wondered the same...
How come you just can't pull into these places and use the water....?

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum thing, but there is a lake you can ride on in Homestead. It's not the biggest but I take my ski there for test runs. However, you need a truck to get in and out of the ramp because of the big hill in front of it. It's not posted and I go there from time to time. If you want I can get you the exact address.

Screw the "lakes" - which are really just rock pits or holes dug to make fill for roads or houses. Nasty stagnant water full of weeds and alligators - not to mention poisonous snakes and who knows what else.

You have almost all of Biscayne Bay to ride in! Or if you live in the vast wasteland known as the Homestead area - there is a place right off Card Sound Road just south of the bridge where you can beach launch. The beach is rather crappy, no sand and all rocks - but you can launch a ski there. You are outside Biscayne National Park and Everglades National Park.

As soon as you are over the bridge, look for a break in the metal road barrier to your left. Turn there. Launch. Park. Ride. No parking enforcement, no meters, no anything.

Re: Any good lakes in south dade that allow wave runners

I allready ride card sound. On some days when it is rough or there are storms to the south it is nice to ride in the lakes, fresh water running fast through your motor ect. (better than a hose and more fun) I basicly do two types of riding, 1) tour and exploring (the ocean and bay) 2) turn and burn / water ski, tubing, hydrosliding ect. (fresh water, the lake) I am hoping to do Virginia key on sunday afternoon (hopfully the ramp on key biscayne will not be completely full) I have not explored the north end yet (by waverunner). Iguana, let me know when you are going to ride card sound and maybe we can meet up.
