The problem -
Key people in the top ten of the Stands and Sits are not all available to make it on the previously planned dates of Nov 14th or the 21st. I really don't want to see our racers who drive long distances be on the road over a holiday weekend so thanksgiving weekend is out. I wanted to shoot for Dec 5th but a very special M/C and an important member of the scoring staff won't be available due to a previously planned out of town engagement and then - we are looking at the busiest sets of weekends that gocart racer puts on.

In celebrating our highest number of racers in 4 years, and in anticipating a record number of racers attending the awards dinner - I respectfully request you bear with me as we try to arrange a date that
1) makes it possible for as many racers to attend as possible,
2) makes it easy for gocart racer to accomodate a very large group, and
3) allows me the opportunity to invite many of our sponsors who want the opportunity to meet all of you.

The solution -
The first few weeks of January look like it will work best for everyone involved including racers, staff, team orange, gocart racer, and the catering staff. I am looking at the saturday afternoon/evenings of Jan 9th or 16th. I should have a "set date" by the end of the weekend. I know some of you are in a hurry to "wrap it up" but I look at it from a different standpoint.

On this special evening, all of us will enjoy a catered dinner and then I will be awarding 50 class trophies, 20 top 10 divisional trophies, 10 racer of the year trophies, 2 rookie of the year awards, 2 top outlaw awards, 2 sportsmanship trophies, 2 grand prizes, and 18 gift awards to the remaining top 10 in both the standup and sitdown divisions... when the smoke clears from all that "hardware" being handed out, we get to put the smackdown on each other on the cart track until the doors close. My goal is to make the djsa season 4 award's dinner and presentations an evening you remember for a long time to come.

Your patience is greatly appreciated and I am confident you will agree it was worth waiting for.
