2010 West Coast Freedom Ride - Planning?

Hi all:

Just checking in and asking about planning. Doesn't look like Chatty has been here as much, I know this is a busy time of year for him. Carlos? Any news? We gotta get this show on the road.

Dan K. from SoCal has offered some help with plotting GPS routes again, and Pirate is in too. I think the first thing is to get a date set...

It's been mentioned that the last weekend in June is too close to the 4th of July weekend, especially for those driving up from SoCal. I have a preference that it NOT be the Father's Day weekend, since many of our volunteers have families that don't jet ski and thus our guys would be away from their families, wrangling us crazy people instead of being nestled sweetly in the bosom of their families.

Who's in? Who do we want to plan this? Jim, any weekends in which permits would be particularly problematic?

I agree that we should start planning now. Also, maybe we can get it an AWA Freedom Ride Event. I will get in touch with Chatty to see what he is up to. He comes here on the boards, but I know he is busy with work.

It is normally a weekend where people come from all over California to the Delta. They camp, BBQ and go on long rides all weekend. We get close to 100 people. That makes for a lot of boats on the water. That is the summary verison.

OK, sorry all for dragging my feet on this.
Lets do 2 conference calls next week to plan this out.
I'll schedule a bridge, for Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm for 1 hour each.
