Ultra 150 Carb Maintenance?

I have a 2001 Kawasaki Ultra 150 w/ 115 hrs. on it. I purchased it with around 80 hrs. 4 yrs. ago...and I wanted to perform the routine maintenance but I don't have the time or knowledge for this craft. I have a tiny tach and it consistently pulls 6800 rpm. It pulls hard and no performance motor work has been performed. Should I have them looked at and adjusted/cleaned to be safe? And what would this set me back? Thanks for all the replies!

Re: Ultra 150 Carb Maintenance?

I wouldn't.
Kawasaki's have a good fuel system so if you are not one who gets water into the gas tank, I bet those carbs look new inside.

Re: Ultra 150 Carb Maintenance?

^ Thanks Bill! But what could I do to squeeze maybe a few more RPM's or lost power from them? Thanks for the responses!

Re: Ultra 150 Carb Maintenance?

Maybe I am missing something here ?

If the motor performs good, why adjust them ?

Is there a problem with them now ?

The reason why I am asking is because multiple people have said it is a good idea to have them checked and serviced. So $300 instead of $1500 for a motor rebuild would be a better option. I am in no means trying to get into a pissing match over this I just wanted honest feedback from people since the Ultra 150 is a fast machine, but very sensitive. I haven't had any problems since owning it...I just want to keep it running strong.

Re: Ultra 150 Carb Maintenance?

the best thing you can do for any kawi tripple is fresh plugs, and get all salt water off engine after riding in salt, especially the Ultra.
good engine and I always hoped that Kawi was going to make a 2 cyl version for the SXR
