| Re: 657x pto flywheel size/pitch No I do not know the size and pitch. But that can be measured with the proper pitch guage. Go vist a machine shop or supplier.
The factory did not rip him off. This happens when the pto is installed and not torqued to specs and no loc Tite was used. I have had it happen several times myself. Normally you can just screw it back on by hand after it backs off like that. Then take it to the water and lift the rear up with the rider standing on the hull like he is ready to go. Rev up the motor and drop the hull into the water. It will yank the pto tight onto the crank. The more you ride it, the tighter it will become.
This loosining of the pto usually only happens after first installing the motor into the hull after a rebuilding job. You start the motor in the shop and rev it up. It quickely drops rpm back to idle but the heavy pto cannot slow down that fast and unwinds itself. I have never had to rethread the pto or the crank to reinstall one after this happens. Just put it back on there, but this time use red Loc-Tite and do not start it until it is in the water, then ride it like you stole it. It will self tighten.
